THE GUY WHO BREAKS THINGS VIDEO RELEASE

It only took two years, this time! July 13th, 2020 will mark exactly two years and one month since we recorded the bed tracks for my forthcoming EP “Hearts & Heads & Thoughts & Deeds”. On that momentus day, I will be releasing the video for the first single, “The Guy Who Breaks Things”.

The dark, country-tinged tune is a sonically luscious tale about a emotionally and physically clumsy fellow who never seems to get things right, despite having good intentions. It’s a bit about an actual guy, but it’s mostly about the guy we’ve all been, at some point or another. It is a lament, reflecting on all the bad decisions made, and the ongoing struggle to be a better person.

The video will be released on July 13th, along with the single, on all platforms. I can’t wait to share it with you!

I have a batch of new tunes that I’ve been cooking up for a while now, and the first single is just about ready for its taste test! Stay tuned for your first listen to “the Guy Who Breaks Things”, from my upcoming EP “Hearts & Heads & Thoughts & Deeds”, recorded at Revolution Recording Studio in Toronto. Up next: recording a VIDEO!

Guess who’s back in the studio?? Ok, it’s ME! Was blessed to spend the day in Revolution Recording studio recording 3 new songs to be released in the spring. I have no words to describe how fun and emotional and fulfilling the day was. 3 new babies were birthed, with the help of Jody Brumell, Steve York, Rail Koonin, Tom Juhas and Dafydd Hughes. Can’t WAIT to share them with you. Until then, here’s a teaser:

14 years after the song begun, the story of Noah is finally ready to be told!

‘Noah’ will be the first single from Then. It is a song about a cruel but beautiful boy who uses his smile to get what he wants, and who has most people fooled because they can’t see behind his mask.

The video for ‘Noah’ is an exploration of who we are under our own “masks”. The video (featuring a selection of 32 friends, family and brave strangers) captures the transformation that takes place when we put on or remove our “masks”: who we think we are, who we wish we were and perhaps who we want others to think we could be.

Produced by Scott Currie (Gypsy Sol, Emily Haines) and Tom McKay (Joydrop, Sate, Nightcrawlers), “THEN” features the talents of some of Canada’s finest musicians: Maury LaFoy (Jann Arden, Bare Naked Ladies), Dafydd Hughes (Feist, Jacksoul), Duncan Coutts (Our Lady Peace), Paul Mathew (Matt Barber, Hidden Cameras), Joshua Van Tassel (Doug Paisley, Amelia Curran), Jody Brummell (Shanks, Bella Clava), Louis Simao (Nelly Furtado, Mary Margaret O’Hara) Kevin Neal (Ron Hawkins, The Do Good Assassins) and many more. The record features songs that have been slowly recorded over the last 13-14 years, but have never been released until now.
